Carlo Basten (born 1975) joined the Augemus team in April 2013. He is a real team player and is able to adapt to new requirements extremely quickly. Carlo is an asset manager through and through. He is known for being customer oriented, very flexible and with a thorough understanding of the business. He never loses sight of the various interests at stake. He moved to Luxembourg eight years ago and feels at home with the financial and political climate here. He has built up an excellent track record in his 15-year career in the banking sector, and has developed many long-term relationships with clients.
The financial world revolves around the development and maintenance of relationships. After many years of experience in banking, I realised I wanted to use my expertise in a broader context. The thing I enjoy most is structuring asset portfolios along logical lines that are appropriate for the mood of the times.
Curriculum Vitae
Carlo Basten graduated in 1997 in Business Economics from the Institute for Business Administration and Economics in Eindhoven and passed his CFA in 2006. He started his financial career as an investment trainee at the ING Bank in Maastricht. He progressed to become a senior investment advisor in private banking for the same bank. In 2005, he moved to ABN AMRO in Luxembourg, where he was the head of investment advice. In 2012, he also took on responsibility for the asset management team and the local investment policy. At the start of 2013, he decided to join Augemus where he could provide an independent service to clients.
